Looking for an editor (requirements above)
12:25 | 18.10.2009 Tommyk
Until yesterday I didn't realize that by shuting down the English part of this server I let some of our visitors without any information about Mafia II. So, I decided to look for an editor (because of little time, I still can't upload Mafia II information in English). Requirements you can read above. It doesn't matter if you're from Finland, the United Kingdom, USA, Poland, or Russia. You just have to want to write and upload news about Mafia II ;).
Google Translator helps?
15:30 | 2.9.2009 Tommyk
Try Google Translator to stay tuned in Mafia II news. Follow
this link (czech-english translate). And be sure that Mafia II DOESN'T come in January 2010. Google isn't all-powerful, neither am I :).

Music - Vito's return from the war
12:50 | 23.5.2009 Tommyk
We assured us again of paying off to watch the foreign servers this morning when I had my Internet connection repaired. One of the first sites I have visited was the German
MafiaII.net and directly a strike home. They uploaded the music which we'll probably hear when Vito will come to the railway station from the war. Listen to it
here (MP3, 743 kB).
Driving model in Mafia 2
18:10 | 11.5.2009 Tommyk
Did also the driving model in the latest in-game videos seem to be unrealistic for you? Martin Zavøel refutated by his post to the oficial 2K Games forums yesterday that they aren't doing anything with that. Read his post:
Hello guys,
Today I have a message from one of my fellow colleges. Vaclav Kral is responsible for the driving model and he did this job also on Mafia I – therefore you can definitely believe that he knows what he is talking about:
“Our driving model at this moment is far more realistic and precise than the physical simulation used in Mafia I – and thanks to this it is actually also easier to control. It is closer to real cars.
Thanks to the setting of difficulty that we are now experimenting with we should be able to make the driving accessible for players who do not play hardcore simulators and like rather easier and arcade like car driving. However even when set to arcade, the driving still maintains high quality feel of physical simulation.
But the rest can enjoy the ride with “raw car” without any supporting driving assistants.
In the videos released so far you could see only driving with arcade setting (it is the default one at the moment) and also the driver chose to ride rather carefully (no skidding) and the camera was not ideally positioned.”
I believe that we will try to do something about this during our E3 presentation.
Two cars from Mafia 2
21:05 | 14.5.2009 Tommyk
The official Mafia 2 website brought us two cars we'll see and drive with in Mafia 2. They are with descriptions which you can read under this new. The renders you can see on the
official website and also in our
Gallery.
Quicksilver Windsor Taxi
This car is Quicksilver Windsor Taxi. You can probably tell that this car comes from a variety of famous vehicles that cruised around in the 1950s. You will see the model car not only as a taxi in game, but also as a civilizan vehicle.
Potomac
This model was derived from several cars that were popular in the 1950s. The smooth lines of this vehicle really tipified the era for us. You really can feel, just by looking at this render, how cool and classy someone must have felt driving around in this thing.

Exclusive material + questions on 2K Czech
18:42 | 20.4.2009 Tommyk
A few weeks ago we got an occasion from the czech magazine
SCORE to have some questions on 2K Czech. There are a couple of them (not only ours):
Will there appear Vito as a child in the game (see the Christmas wallpaper)?
Definitely no as a playable part.
HW requirements?
Acceptable. (Laughing) Absolutely it won't be a revolutionary game like for examle Crysis.
The Mafia 1 scenario worked often with the Prohibition. Is a similar theme in Mafia 2?
There will be the postwar crisis and the beginning of the 50's.
Exclusive information:
To see the music in "action" isn't seemingly so nonsensical
and Martin gave soon the floor to Matúš: "On compositional
processes aren't any rules, every composer has his own ones," indicates
Matúš the production process. As a verification he played a nice orchestral theme
when Vito arrives in the city. A soldier coming back from WWII
whom nobody welcomes at the station. That's why we liked the sorrowful track
more than jovial jazz, which would the return from European front deserve.
...
Unreservedly, the first sorrowful track went to our ears
very well, anyway we're happy that no department of 2K Czech will
release anything else than a 100% product.
